February Swap Meet (Indoor)
Since 1990, the Vintage Radio & Communications Museum has been giving collectors of vintage communications equipment the opportunity to come together and share their love of this wonderful history. These events are called Swap Meets where collectors from throughout the Northeast gather to display items that they would like to sell, swap or trade.
The first Swap Meet for 2025 will be held on Saturday, February 8th, at the museum at 115 Pierson Lane, in Windsor, CT. The swap runs from 8 am to 1 pm. The event is free for the public to attend. There is a small fee to set up and display.
The collectors will set up tables in the Museum Event Center of the museum. The museum have a large amount of surplus equipment that will be offered for sale as well. For more info go to the museum web site vrcmct.org or call 860-683-2903.
Amateur Radio Operators License (VE) Test
The VE tests are run through the Vintage Radio & Communications Museum HAM club for people who are trying to achieve their Amateur radio operators license.
An exam, authorized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is required for all levels of the Amateur Radio license. These exams are administered by Volunteer Examiners, accredited by the FCC-recognized Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC) system. Everyone planning to take a test MUST HAVE an "FRN" before the day of the test! Refer to the Amateur Radio tab, then License Prep and Exams for detailed information.
The Technician Class and General Class exams consist of 35 multiple-choice questions, drawn randomly from a pool of at least 350. To pass, 26 of the 35 questions must be answered correctly

The collectors will set in the parking lot of the museum if the weather permits. If the weather is bad, we will move the swap indoors in the Museum Event Center. The museum will also have a large amount of surplus equipment that will be offered for sale as well.
This is a fun time for anyone who stops by to see the items from these individual collectors as well as the extensive permanent display of the museum. General admission is free, with a small fee if one wishes to set up and display items. Voluntary donations are accepted by this all volunteer driven, self-supporting museum.

The Vintage Radio & Communications Museum at 115 Pierson Lane, in Windsor, CT is about to host one of its biggest events of the year on June 15th. The event will be the early summer swap meet.
Weather permitting, this will be an outdoor tailgate affair, but if the weather turns fowl, it will be held in the Museum Event Center. Vendors and collectors from all over the northeast will set up to sell, swap or trade many vintage communication items.
What a great Father’s Day weekend activity to come and view the swap meet and then tour the museum exhibits. The swap meet will open at 8 am and wind up around 1 pm. The museum will be open all day until 5pm. Admission to the swap is free to the public. There is a small fee to set up and display.

The end of summer swap meet is quickly approaching on the 6th of September, and we have a fun and exciting day planned for everyone.
We will have a big treat for people who attend the September Swap Meet. In addition to collectors of communications history from all over the Northeast displaying items for sale, we will have the New England Crosley Car Club there as well.
Not only did Crosley manufacture radios and TVs, but he also made kitchen appliances and automobiles!
You can never predict what will show up - from radios, TVs , telephone equipment, parts, and paper memorabilia.
The museum will be open all day so people can wander though our historical communications displays. Come and see what really cool items the vendors are selling, check out the Crosley cars and tour the museum displays as well. It will be a fun day for everyone!

The end of summer swap meet is quickly approaching on the 9th of September, and we have a fun and exciting day planned for everyone. We will have collectors from throughout the Northeast setting up to sell, swap and trade vintage communications pieces.
You can never predict what will show up - from radios, TVs , telephone equipment, parts, and paper memorabilia. In addition, the Northeast Area Packard Car collectors plan to cruise in mid-morning to display their cars on the museum front lawn for a couple of hours.
Our museum DJ - Dillion, will be spinning the records pumping out some great vintage music.
The museum will be open all day so people can wander though our historical communications displays. The event is free to the public. A small fee is charged to set up and display.
